OXANDROLONE

Oxandrolone comprises of dihydrotestosterone or
DHT as it is commonly referred as, which is basically
a derivative of anabolic androgenic steroids. To put
it another way, it is a DHT hormone which has the
added addition of an oxygen atom where there
would usually be Carbon 2 in its A ring. The chemical
alteration increases the anabolic effect and power
and helps prevent it from being metabolized by the
body. There are further alterations of the hormone
at the 17th carbon position with the inclusion of an
atom of the methyl group. The addition of the
methyl group alteration enables the Oxandrolone to
be taken orally and avoid being metabolized by the
liver. This means that it gains the official classification
of being a C17 Alpha Alkylated Anabolic Steroid,
or a C17-AA.
The many beneficial therapeutic effects it was
earlier claimed to have on the body have also been
proven to be accurate. Its main use appears to be
for assisting with weight gain for those who have
had surgery or illness that resulted in drastic weight
loss that needs to be rectified. This rings especially
true for certain wasting conditions associated with
illnesses such as HIV and Cancer. Oxandrolone has
also been found to help treat overexposure to
corticosteroids and can help improve and increase
bone density in those afflicted with osteoporosis. It
has also had success as a treatment for minors
lacking hormone production and in various cases of
Hepatitis infection. However, one of the more
confusing things about Oxandrolone for therapeutic
benefit is the limited use of it in the USA when
compared to other countries around the world.
